Have you ever heard the adage, "You either use a water filter, or you are one." Anyone that isn't using a filter should probably have their head examined by a competent psychiatrist! The information on the web, and in printed materials is overwhelming clear. Our most vital element that makes up the majority of our Planet, which was drinkable right from the source without much issue is now so laden with toxicity that our health is threatened by the consumption of it! The jury is back on Fluoride which will be a subject of later discussion, you know dental cavities, and our government's concern for the teeth of its citizens...please! Look at just a few samples of the information that is readily available to us concerning this scary issue. There are some pundits who believe that good drinking water will become a serious issue to the survival of our species.
If school kids drink tap water in their schools in major urban, areas where testing is done regularly, they risk lead contamination from old pipes - known to affect physical and mental development. A recent nationwide investigation showed that the drinking water in schools in 27 states is contaminated with lead and other toxic substances from lead-soldered pipes installed before 1985. Folks that is more than 50% of all states. Here we are sending our children to school to make them "smarter" and the lead in the water is neurologically making them dumber!
In 2007, Baltimore City public schools switched their entire system to bottled water after a study of 84 randomly selected water fountains found 10 with lead levels high than the EPA's cutoff of 20 parts per billion. The school district decided it would be more cost effective to provide bottled water than testing and remediation efforts. But as the worldwide demand for bottled water accelerates at a dangerous level, environmentalists have been crying foul and attempting to get people to drink out of the taps. Whoa boys, that isn't palatable either. Bottled water creates a devastating impact on the environment - in the U.S. alone public goes through about 50 billion water bottles a year, (that's right 50 billion) and most of those plastic containers are not recycled! Use your imagination folks. You are part of the solution or you are the problem Dr. Emoto the famous scientist who showed how thought impact water, especially prayer, had endorsed this medical device as one that creates a living water.
What scientists know is this, if folks are exposed to excessive amounts of lead, they get dumber! This especially applies to children, including the devastating potential of brain damage if they are exposed to lead at an early age. Now here is the kicker, fluoridation which is prevalent in most public water systems in our country, can actually increase the absorption of lead. Lead is an element that is abundant on our planet, but too much of it in our systems is know to cause major neurological problems. If too much is present it displaces zinc, which in turn causes havoc on brain cell growth. Think how much money we spend on a nation for health insurance.
So if our bodies "go south on us" we are covered for medical procedures. Do you think it might be valuable to send your kids to school with a small very portable water filtration system that they can carry in their lunch boxes or their rucksacks, and educating them just how important it is to use them because if they don't and they drink the water out of the fountains it will make them stupid and possibly cause irreparable damage? How to Fall Asleep in Less Than 5 Minutes!
We are living in a hyper fast world today, and there is only so much awake time or consciousness a person can take. When it is time to call it quits for the day, but you can't quite get there, try looking at these ideas on how to get there in a hurry.
A. Unwind - Shift your mind out of gear and shift your body into low idle. Take a deep breath and release it slowly. As you are doing this, literally relax your fingers, your shoulders, your jaw. Image them sinking into warm water and melting. You just cannot be tense when these areas are relaxed.
B. Catch The Wave - Our bodies are similar to nature, operating on a cycle. Sleep cycles last between 60 and 90 minutes, so when you start to feel sleepy, ride that cycle right to bed. If you don't, then the alternative may be waiting another hour and a half for the next wave.
C. Be A Regular - Not At The Bar Dummy! Establish a bedtime ritual and stick to it. Visual cues help. An hour before sleep, turn off the overhead lights and dim the lamps. This tells your body that it should begin getting ready to shut down.
D. Get Comfortable - 65 degrees F is the best temperature for sleep. If that's too chilly, put on a blanket, not the heat. Be sure your head and neck are supported by the pillow at the correct angle. To test if it correct, fold the pillow in half, and put a shoe on top. If it springs back, great. If it doesn't, then it isn't giving you proper support.
E. Do Boring - Fill your thoughts with something really uninteresting. Read a People's magazine article about Brad and Angie, or Brad and Jen, or Brad and Brad... You can try counting backwards from 980 to 30 by 5's
